CITY COUNCIL

Resident involvement and volunteer participation are central to Gardena governance. Gardena is a General Law City governed by the codes adopted by the legislators of the State of California. Gardena is governed by an elected Mayor and four Council Members. The Mayor, Council Members, City Clerk and City Treasurer are elected every four years. As a General Law City, the Council appoints the City Manager to implement policies and oversee City Departments.

The Gardena City Council is dedicated to guiding City government to maintain Gardena’s family-friendly community and quality of life by investing in safety, infrastructure, education, technology and economic opportunities.
